This is the South gate that leads into the grounds of the Taj Mahal. There are 22 domes on it to signify the 22 years it took to build.
The view of the Taj Mahal as one walks through the gate.
Meself and herself. The tour guide took this one. I think he was lame or something, because he was incapable of taking a level photograph. It is not really on so much of a slope.
I was very excited.
This was trying to get the reflection in as well...llew sa ni noitcelfer eht teg ot gniyrt saw sihT
From another angle, to show not every picture has to be symmetrical.
Becky sitting on the floor. The Taj Mahal is behind her. See?
Another angle. I like angles.
This is a picture taken of the East side of the building, from within the arcade of the living quarters of Emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal (not personally) in 1631.
This is a picture from the Taj Mahal facing back at the gate.
Here is an example of the inlay work using semi-precious stones that covers the building.
This is a picture of the mosque on the West side of the monument. From the outside, it is indistinguishable from the living quarters occupying the same location on the East side. Liked him some symmetry he did.
This is a good one of the gardens, looking back from the Taj Mahal.
This is another crooked tour-guide shot, this time of Becky on Princess Diana's seat, looking all forlorn without James.
This is probably the best shot I took.It really is an amazing piece of work.
The final farewell.
