This is a picture taken of the East side of the building, from within the arcade of the living quarters of Emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal (not personally) in 1631.
This is a picture of the mosque on the West side of the monument. From the outside, it is indistinguishable from the living quarters occupying the same location on the East side. Liked him some symmetry he did.
